The TECH MASTERS event was organized within the Faculty of Information & Communication Technology, with students and faculty members alike invited to join.
Following a brief overview into Exigy and TECH MASTERS, attendees were treated to an interesting tech talk by our very own Abel Garcia Celestrin (Ph.D.), who discussed the real-world implementations of real-time analytics.
“It was great to be able to deliver a talk on Business Intelligence and Stream Analytics at the University of Malta. It’s rewarding to experience the welcoming interest on the talk itself and to discuss interesting lines of applied research. It’s always a pleasure to help bridging the gap between academy and industry. Definitely looking forward to visiting again!” commented Abel.
Following this was the unveiling of this years’ winning _TECH MASTERS solution. Students were evaluated on their ability to create robust and readable code and their ability to create effective documentation.
This years’ challenge was to create a solution with the ability to predict potential health and safety hazards within a given environment. The winners, Vladislav Kalashnikov and Kurt Camilleri, displayed the most impressive entry and were awarded the grand prize for their winning submission.
The team at Exigy would like to thank all participants for taking on this challenge, as well as those who attended the official event.
Special thanks also go towards the Faculty of ICT, who helped make this event happen.
